I’m Clara.
I’m a writer and editor based in New York.
Right now, I’m working full-time as an associate for Puck News and Air Mail. I’m particularly interested in how state and local politics intersect with arts and culture.
I also produce short-form vertical video for Ms. Magazine, and host a social series on New York City-based artists for Basta Magazine.
I’ve written for Interview Magazine on topics including duct-taped bananas, Led Zeppelin, tariffs, pop-culture criticism, fungi, Rico Nasty, and wallowing.
At Sotheby’s, I covered 16th-century Italian art, Gustav Klimt, artistic friendships, striking portraits, a hippo-shaped bar, and more.
As arts editor at Washington Square News, I wrote about the circus, punk professors, Riot Grrrls, magicians, abortion activism, Kandinsky, and fossil fuel investment and divestment.
At NBC, I worked across NBC News, MSNBC, and TODAY, helping drive audience development and increase user engagement. I also covered culture — from Mikey Madison and The White Lotusto Adolescence and The Apprentice.
For Ms. Magazine, I ran two columns and reported on issues including menstrual equity in India, U.S. gun reform, and the experiences of women in Afghanistan.
I hosted and produced “Female Hysteria,” a radio show on WNYU.
